Protect Your Heart - Eat these foods! (October 2009)

Cardiovascular disease affects many Australian Adults. It is a leading contributor to the burden of disease in Australia.

The following foods have been shown to lower the risk of developing cardiovascular disease when consumed on a regular basis!

Fish/Fish oil - 2serves/week, or 2 tablets/day
Fruit and Vegetables - 400g/day
Garlic - 2.7g/day
Almonds - 70g/day
Dark Chocolate - 2 squares/day


The combination of these foods have the potential to greatly reduce risk factors.
